The Guild Church of St Margaret Pattens
Our Ministry
St Margaret Pattens is able to hold all services of the Church of England: baptism, confirmation, weddings, funerals and memorial services. The chief focus of our life is the weekly Thursday lunchtime service of Holy Communion, with rousing hymns and a thoughtful sermon, at which you will be made most welcome. After the 40-minute service there is always a friendly gathering for tea and biscuits to which all are invited. Times of services are given below.
If you live or work nearby and wish to share your joy, or unburden your grief in order to rediscover a path which once seemed clear, or to give thanks to God for blessings received or ask for guidance, we offer St Margaret Pattens as a place of sanctuary.
Services are held as follows:
Thursday: Services are held throughout the year. 1st Thursday in the month: Choral Eucharist usually at 1.10 p.m. Other Thursdays - Holy Communion at 1.15 p.m.
Friday: Early morning opening from 7.30 a.m., with Morning Prayer on 1st and 3rd Fridays each month at 8 a.m. (but not in August)
Sunday: The Church is licensed by the Bishop of London for the use of the St Stephen Charismatic Episcopal Church (formerly the Charismatic Episcopal Church London Anglo-Filipino Mission). Holy Eucharist at 11 a.m. Website: http://www.iccec.org
In addition, we hold a variety of other services and events, including Bible studies and readings, quiet reflective services and occasionally formal Choral Evensong. At Christmas and Advent we have a variety of well-attended carol services.
